Trees of Hope’s incredible display of trees, baskets and holiday cheer is truly a labor of love. The entire New Haven community comes together to create this extraordinary nine day event.
For the past 6 years, the Maritime Center has graciously hosted Trees of Hope in its main foyers and hallways. The generosity and support given by the Fusco Company and New Boston is truly a gift.
During the event, volunteers sell raffle tickets, work in the boutique and ensure that every attendee leaves with a smile. Performances by musical groups by local schools and community choirs spread holiday cheer. Visits from Santa and Ronald McDonald as well as arts and crafts hosted by the RMH Junior Board are weekend entertainment for children.
Trees of Hope helps support the families that stay at RMH throughout the entire year. Thanks to the hard work and compassion of all those involved, families are able to be together while a child receives care to save his or her life. On behalf of every child and family that benefits from the enormous labor of love that is Trees of Hope, thank you.
Trees of Hope volunteers are like Santa’s helpers. They decorate trees and set up our holiday boutique. Every tree, basket and table setting that is part of the display and raffle is donated to the Ronald McDonald House of CT. These items are collected over months by groups and individuals and meticulously displayed. Many trees or baskets are in memory of a loved one – creating a beautiful tribute for all to see. The dedication and long term commitment of donors is matched only by the happiness their donation brings to each of the lucky raffle winners.
